Anatomy of an (easy) long-wearing makeup look!
I used makeup to the fitness center for the very first time in permanently yesterday (There was a reason… more on this in a sec.), as well as assumption what? It led me to establish a listing of go-to sweat-proof long-lasting makeup products that I understand won’t budge an inch, even after an intense 60-minute HIIT class!
Not that I ever wear a full deal with when I exercise, however it never hurts to be prepared, right? At least now I understand what to grab if Sydney Cummings ever asks me to do a workout video with her.

The go-to gang
I believe having a number of sweat-proof, water-proof products on hand is a great concept for people who do performances (dude, those stage lights are HOT), or if you’re going to be a guest at a destination wedding event in a tropical locale, or if you’re going to vegas to sit by the pool — basically, any type of circumstance where you understand you’ll be sweating as well as you don’t want your brows/lashes/lips to melt off.
The before pic: Let’s get sweaty!
Anyway, the reason this specific makeup difficulty came about was since my HIIT instructor asked me to be the “member of the month” at the fitness center for September 2019.
Being member of the month involves having your photo taken, which will appear on a huge ol’ poster in the middle of the fitness center (EEK), as well as answering some exercise-related interview questions.

The after pic: makeup after a 60-minute HIIT workout
We did the photo part during Monday night’s class, as well as that included some action shots of me sweating (and hopefully) looking somewhat adorable with makeup on, even in that terrible overhead florescent lighting.
Sweating in progress…
Brows still in place, YES!
I utilized the least amount of product I might get away with since I didn’t want to be using layers as well as layers of heavy makeup. Also, most of the products I utilized were from metropolitan Decay, a line with a solid reputation for long-wearing makeup.
BROWS
I’ve noticed that filled-in brows make all the difference in pics, so I utilized metropolitan Decay Brow Blade water resistant Pencil as well as Ink discolor in Dark Drapes to fill them in (pencil first, then the ink).
By the end of the workout, the drawn-in tail on my right brow had faded ever-so-slightly, which wasn’t surprising, really, with the amount of sweat that was pouring out of me, however both brows stayed more or less intact.
LIDS/LASHES
Because I have somewhat hooded eyes, I wished to define my lids a little, so I buffed the metropolitan Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Smog, a rich brown, around my lids to simulate a slight crease for depth as well as dimension. Then, I lined my upper lash line as well as flicked out the ends with metropolitan Decay Perversion water resistant fine point Eye Pencil, before covering my lashes with metropolitan Decay Perversion water resistant Mascara to open my eyes up.
After the workout, whatever was still in place…even the kitten flicks!
ANSIGT
Again, I didn’t want to be using layers of primer as well as powder, so I tried getting away with as bit as possible. just sufficient to even out my skin as well as cover up a pimple on my chin.
I started by wetting a genuine methods Buffing clean with metropolitan Decay All Nighter Spray as well as buffing everything over my deal with as a makeup primer.
Then, I did a mix of the the longest-wearing, lightweight base products that I understand 1) photograph well, as well as 2) don’t break me out. These include MAC deal with as well as Body foundation in C5 as well as Estée Lauder double wear Stay-in-Place Makeup, which I buffed around my deal with utilizing the exact same clean I utilized for the primer.
After it dried, I sprayed one more layer of All Nighter on top to lock whatever down.
LIPS/CHEEKS
For the lipstick as well as blush, I utilized a long-wearing soft matte liquid lipstick in a coral pink called honest beauty liquid Lipstick in Happiness.
